Okay, so, I'm an idiot..
I've been giving out my new business cards ( oh yeah, I'm official ) to everyone I meet, and I realized that my blog says nothing about the countries I'm going to, what I'll be doing, or what my current needs are…
So here we go..
As of now, (as they are subject to change) the countries I will be visiting over the next year will be:
Ireland, Romania, Ukraine, India, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Now, if you're anything like me, you read that, and go:
"Awesome!"
"But, what does this actually mean?"
"I thought Malaysia was a type of fish?"
I know, another Christian doing awesome things for God, incredible! But, if you're like me (man I need Jesus), and a missionary comes and speaks about their heart, unless you seriously relate to them, you sort-of just clap your hands and smile for his willingness to serve.
But now, being on the other end of this scenario, I get it. I am able to fully understand the passion of their hearts. These places I'm going to aren't just names, they are communities of people who are suffering. Some, worse than we can even imagine. They are sons and daughters who aren't begging their parents for cookies, or an ipod, but begging a stranger for a bite to live.
(this is where I post a picture of an adorable little girl, to convict you into supporting me)
(this is where the picture of "Tabatha" would end.)
The first thing people ask is: "what will you be doing in these places?" Well, every country has their own specific need. But, they say "expect the unexpected". Some days will be street ministry, some days engineering projects, some days finding food and water, some days preaching, some days teaching english. Who knows!? Who cares?!
But, I am called to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.
I am going away for 11 months to bring the joys of Heaven to Earth. To make Jesus Christ famous, in any means necessary. I'm going to be destroyed. I'm going to be broken. I'm going to put outside of my comfort zone. But, I can't wait!
My current needs:
I hate this part. I want to help the world, but I hate asking for help.
Let me start by saying, that your prayers and encouragement means a whole lot more to me than any check could ever. First and foremost I ask that you continually pray for me, my teammates, our leadership, the countries we will be visiting, and the locals in the areas.
Obviously another need is finances. The trip costs 15,500$ alone, and on top of shots, passports, gear, etc, we're looking at an additional 2,000$. On top of that, I'm looking at around 2,000$ additional spending money for the entire year. That sounds like a lot, but God continually blesses me and shows me that He's got it taken care of.
If you feel called to help financially support my efforts with the World Race, you can donate three different ways:
1. Personally donate to me. That money helps with supplies, passport, shots, etc.
2. Check. You can mail in a check to Adventures in Missions, PO Box 534470 Atlanta, GA 30353-4470. Please make your check Payable to Adventures in Missions, and please put my name in the memo line.
3. Credit/Debit card. If you noticed, on the top left side of the screen there's a tab that says "Support Me!" The steps are pretty self explanatory. But I must warn you. There is a 3% transaction fee on all credit/debit card donations, so I encourage you to make a check donation instead. Every little bit helps, and I would rather personally buy a stamp for you, then to lose the 3%.
