"Focus on your ministry today, and I'll take care of tomorrow"… This is what The Lord has been telling me for the past year, and some days it is more difficult than others. With the World Race just around the corner I was afraid that this summer was going to be one of those difficult times, however… it was the exact opposite. Yes, there were days I thought about the World Race, but when God placed me as Rec Director at NGU Fuge this summer He knew exactly what He was doing.
I could sit here and type out story after story about how I saw The Lord work this summer; ways He made His presence tangible, ways He spoke to students and staff, ways He confirmed callings, and gave those strength to commit. There were nights where I laid in bed with my mind blown because of the ways He was working. God, you are truly INCREDIBLE! To have the opportunity of serving with a ministry that impacted over 8,000 middle school and high school students was very humbling. PLUS, I was blessed to see many die to themselves and accept true life that only comes from the Father.
I must say though, one of the biggest blessings was being able to serve with the wonderful fuge family that I was placed with. I had the privilege of serving on a staff family of 40 people who genuinely love The Lord and people. I know true community is something people talk about that happens on the World Race, but I would say this summer was some of the most genuine community that I have seen. I'm thankful for each and every one of them and their pursuit of furthering the gospel. I can say with confidence that their passion wasn't just a 'camp thing', but yet they will be fervently sharing the love of Jesus at their schools and work place this fall. You make me free to sing!
So as the summer draws to a close and the World Race draws closer by the day it becomes easier to focus on the what's to come. However, I still have a semester of school left. A semester to love on as many people as I can. A semester to disciple. A semester to encourage. A semester to be bold. A semester to share Jesus. I don't want to lose sight of what God has told me over and over again. I never wanna get so wrapped up in the future that I neglect my present ministry. "Focus on your ministry today, and I'll take care of tomorrow."
