Dear Scottie,

Happy 26th Birthday old man! In October you wrote me a letter telling me how proud you are of me, and that you are always saying to your students, “Let me tell you guys some of the awesome stuff that my little sister is doing!” Well sure, I may be traveling the world, but when I think about the amazing man God has shaped you into, I am filled with pride and joy. So today I want everyone to know:

“Look what my big brother is doing!”

Despite spending much of high school playing WOW, you married your beautiful and athletic high school sweetheart.

You went from a college dropout to putting yourself through school as an “A” student, and you will be graduating next year!

You and Leslie worked hard for two years saving money (while paying for your college) and bought a beautiful house! This is such a huge accomplishment for newly weds, and you have truly made the place a welcome and open home.

In high school you always said that you wanted to be a high school history teacher and coach basketball….and that’s exactly what you’re doing! Your students are so blessed to have you, and the impact you have on them is evidenced by how much they love you.

But I know that none of this would be possible if it were not for the strong relationship you have with our Heavenly Father. I can see how you constantly seek Him out and serve Him in so many ways. God has given you the gift of leadership, especially leading youth. To watch as you do exactly that is to see a man living in the center of God’s will.

Scott, I cannot wait until one day you and Leslie become parents. You are going to be a loving, devoted, strong father, much like our Dad is to us. We are ALL proud of you. I can only imagine the amazing things God is going to do in and through your life over the years as you continue to pursue Him.

(A throwback from 2008….we’ve never looked better!)

Happy Birthday Scottie. I love you and miss you so much!

Love,

Logan
