On the 25th we had a strong wind blow through, and one of the two sailing boats
that were moored at the beach, rigging had come undone causing its boom to
swing too & frow. The owner and freind couldn’t launch their dingy because the
waves where ‘to big’ (they havent been to Jeffreys Bay)
So i got on an old windsurfer board and paddeled out to the boat,climbed on board,
secured the boom, padeled back and surfed a wave onto the beach, yeeeaaahaaa.
The next morning (27th) I packed up me tent and was planing to go to the rest of
the group. John & Robin, the owners of the sailing boats came to move them to
another side of the island where the sea was calmer. We got chating,Robin offered
to take me to Malasia as he was planing to sail there (to Langkwai island) that
evening.
They had a problem, before they could move the boats the props had to have the
barnicles scraped off. This time we went in the dingy and using me goggels and a
paint scraper i gos the barnicles off both boats. I then got aboard ‘Fly Robin Fly’.
We started the motor but soon realised we had no rudder! i was able to get the
mooring line with the gaff so we where then safe from the rocks nearby.
We checked the stearing system,the rudder cable had snaped !
it took a while to get
the emergacey tiller conected and before we left, i had to donated the breakfast i had
eaten to the fish in the sea at least three or four times. Once we got moving i felt better.
I stayed at John’s house that night and we went to get his boat in the morning.
The wind was calmer but the swell still ‘big’. we timed our entry perfectly because
we just made it over a couple of wave before they broke. i got to steer both boats,
not very exciting as i thought, but very relaxing. I knew at this time that i would
not be able to sail with Robin due to the time needed to repair the boat, but had a
great time hanging out with them. John had developed some broblem (the doctors
dont know what it is) with his legs. they have swollen up and have a kind of exema
on the skin. I explained to him how Jesus can Heal and offered to pray for him.
I prayed and he said he could feel a warmth flow from me right hand. HaleluJAH.
I trust he will recover.
On the 29th John took me to the bus station, i got the 16h30 bus to Hat yai (Thailand) and arrived
at about 23h00
Me got a Tuk tuk to the train station where i put up me tent and had a very
warm (sauna) sleep.
So now me awaits the 15h50 train to Kuala Lampur(Malasia).
