About a week ago i woke up, (only halway it felt), a bit to early. When i stuck me head out the tent there was a Thai lady (LEE not her real name) sitting on her scooter laughing. I greeted her and she explained that it was verry funny to see thi tall flung (White person) come out of a little tent.
She wanted to go snorkeling but was afraid of the sea. I helped her into the ocean she had a little panic and me had to get her out but she is verry brave and tryed again a little while later, she did fine this time. A man gave me his Gogels and me had a slice of bread in my hand to attract the fishes. i was able to catch one using me hand. when i showed it to my new Thai friend she was so excited she was jumping about shouting “sexy fish !,sexy fish !” (translation = pritty fish) i was in stitches laughing too.
We spent mutch time talking and going places together(she was in Phuket on holiday and comes from north western costal area of Thailand) She had a lot of questions about men as she had relational issues. one evenig when i got back from working at Patong beach i found food that she had bought and left for me at me tent.The next moring i got me four bannanas for breakfast and decided to give one to LEE, her bungelow was on the way to Patong. I met her along the road so we sat on our scooters talking. When i offered to give her the bannana she said she did not want it because i was thin and i must eat it, i showed her that i had three more for me but she still refused, so i distracted her, sliped the bannana into her bikes basket, greated & drove off. She saw the bannana, grabed it an ran after me shouting “i dont want your bannana” and she threw it at me. Fortnatly i had me helmit on because it was a very accurate throw. It was so funny that i was laughing me lungs out for about two kilometers.
The next day we whent to a hill top to see the sun rise,she shared that she had grown up in a budist family when she was about seventeen she was looking up at the stars and questioned truthfully in her heart ‘Who made the stars & every thing ells,& why am i here ? ‘ etc. Then when she was studying a man from campus crusade spoke to her class about God. She didnt believe then because she did not trust people, but the message did make sence to her.Then a year later she was in a situation that got her to call out to the Lord and she became a christian. She fellowshiped at a church and started to grow for about three years.
She then had a stumble while on holiday in Phuket, she said “i did what my head and body wanted to do and did not listen to what my heart was saying” this was about eight years ago.She said she felt as if she had turned ninety degrees from God.I reasured her that God still loves her and that his love is not based on her ability,but that he loves her because he loves her,it is his Choice.God was faithful to give me a word of Knowlage of her past for her to edify her.
I had to take her to the bus station that morning but we got delayed with directions and she missed her bus.
That evening we went for dinner and when she droped me off where the group was meating, they had already begun to have a worship session of singing. I invited her to join in, she was very shy, but she did. We sat at a table and within a minute she had tears streaming down as god embraced her in his presence. Ester & i prayed and spoke with her and she then whent to the beach to have a time alone with God. as she about to go to the beach there was a great big fire works display for about a minute, this was a reflection of the angels having a huge celebration in Heaven because of her return. The timing was perfect.
God did speak to her and she said she felt she could go home for her heart was no longer sad and empty.
She told me she left her home for a holiday because she was sad, she said all she wanted to do was find a quiet place and be alone. She did not want to come to Phuket because of what hapenend there before but God had a setup for her.
