So I’m going on the World Race! Many have been asking me what that exactly means. Well the quick answer is that its a mission trip to 11 different countries in 11 months (11n11.) But it goes much deeper than that!
The World Race started back in 2006 and has been going strong ever since. No two peoples World Race experiences are the same, not even two days are exactly the same while on the Race. One day I may be teaching VBS and the next day helping with a construction project. No one does the World Race alone, I will have a team who I will be working, living, and traveling with. Though each day will be different the focus will be the same that is to share Gods love and work for his Kingdom.
Now let me tell you a little about what my journey will look like. This will be the most challenging thing I have ever done, but probably the best thing to happen in my life. As I mentioned before I will be going to 11 countries. I feel blessed because I will get to go to 4 different continents and experience many different cultures! I wanted to see as much of this world as I could being that I have never really traveled before so I picked July Route 4.
My Race will start in Africa going to Swaziland, Botswana, and South Africa. Ever since my brother spent a summer in Africa I have had a desire to go there and experience it for myself. Though these 3 countries share similar struggles I hope God will use me in many ways to help the people and do amazing things.
The next leg of my Race will be in Europe going to two beautiful countries of Estonia and Latvia. I’m looking forward to celebrating my birthday day in Latvia. Both of these countries though beautiful have dark sides. Latvia is know as a “Fatherless Country,” I hope I can share how God has become a father to me and wants to be theirs as well.
After Europe will come Asia with me going to Thailand, Cambodia, India, and Nepal. A highlight for this Northern New Hampshire girl will be experiencing the Christmas season in Thailand. This area of the world is afflicted with many troubles. From a high number of people being transported and taking into sex trafficking to people being forced into slavery to pay off never ending debts. I hope to be used to show them that there is hope for them through the love of Christ. That they two can have the promise of his love and salvation. We will work with non-believe showing the love and helping them in their needs but also with believers helping them to hold onto the hope they have.
The last leg of my race will be in North America, but defiantly not the North America I know as home. It will be spring and back home temperature will be in the 60’s but in these two countries Guatemala and Nicaragua it will be in the 90’s. Both of these countries have a high poverty rates, have many affected by addiction and broken homes. These two countries are often highlights to World Racers. Though there is a lot of hard work much of the focus is on building relationships with these people showing Gods love through our actions.
The World Race will bring me all over the world spreading Gods love!! I look forward to seeing how God will use me to change the world and how he will change me through the places I go and the people I will meet.
I also look forward to sharing my journey with you all and hope it will bless you as well! So stay tune for more..
