The past few weeks have been insane! I have seen God working over time this month to bless me and show me his will! I’m sitting here in the offices of Adventures in Missions the group that the World Race is through. I’m getting to meet many staff members and former racers. This is all making me even more excited for Training Camp this upcoming week and to leave for the race in July.
So what happened these past couple if weeks to make it so crazy? The last Sunday in April my most successful fundraiser so far was held, my Craft fair by the wonderful Amy Rybczyk of Gunther’s Goodies. There were 12 vendors who all made donation to show their ways at this event but many also donated items for a raffle and gave extra donations to my account! At this event we were able to raise $796! This money helped get me only $150 away from my May deadline that would take me to training camp!

I am still working full time caring for my Aunt and helping out in my church nursery all while trying to spend as much time with my family and friends before I leave for The Race.
Also at the start of this month I started to become worried about my moms boyfriend after not hearing from him for awhile. Our worst fears came true when on the 23rd he was found dead in his home. After that we had to take in his dog and find a new home for him while dealing with the grief that came along with the unexpected lose of Harold.
With all this going on I still had to push through and keep fundraising and preparing for my trip to Georgia for Training camp. Come the week of my deadline and I was still $150 away and had no clue where the money would come from. I had a large yard sale planned but it was for the day after the deadline. After talking to AIM and being giving a extension on the deadline I went on Facebook to a sweet message from a dear friend telling me they had got me to my deadline and donated the $150 I needed! So instead of needing an extra week God provided the money 1 day EARLY!
So I was ready to have my yard sale and start working on my June deadline. As I was setting up I saw how God had used so many people to bless me again. My friends and family had donated many nice items to help me raise as much money as I could. There was so much stuff I had to go get more tables! With the yard sale I was able to raise $328 a great start towards my next goal. But the money wasn’t even the best part. Being able to talk about my trip and the trust I’m putting in Gods plan to my neighbors was such a blessing. God also used a women driving by to bless me. I had three customers in a row who paid for $1 with 20 dollar bills leaving me with no change. I had more customers ready to buy but I couldn’t make change for them. Then out of no where this women stops and ask me if I need change because she had a lot of small bills. She made change for a 20 and then for the rest of the day I had as many 1’s, 5’s, and 10’s that I needed. It kind of reminded me of when Jesus was able to feed the large crowd with a small helping of fish and bread.
After all grew normal from the sale it was time to by the last of my gear and get ready for my trip south. I loved seeing the shocked look on the sales mans face as we talked about my upcoming trip and sleeping bag needs. When he brought up dead space in a sleeping bag he had no clue just how much dead space I would have.
After work on the 9th I started my drive down. I was able to plan a weekend stop in Charlotte to reconnect with friend who had moved but also to meet my cousin for the first time! Though the weekend went by to quick I left feeling loved and blessed!
With my friends in Charlotte!
Sunday night after way to much time in the car I made it safe and sound to Gainesville where I will getting ready for camp but also get to see friends, family, and meet some amazing new people.
I can’t wait to meet my squad and dive deeper into the preparation for this amazing journey that is in front of my and all the other July Racers! Cant wait to tell you all about it!
Reunited with my Nephew!
PS Please be praying for F-Squad as one of their squadmates was killed last week in a car accident just 10 short days before camp. Though we all haven’t met our squadmates bonds are already in the making. I would be heartbroken over losing one of my squadmates.
PSS If you have a pray request feel free to tell me! I love you all and want to be there for you as well! 🙂
