Let me back track a little…

On our first adventure day in Nicaragua, we decided to go volcano Boarding. Before arriving in Nica, we were told it was THE thing to do there. We were super excited and could not wait to try it!

What is volcano boarding you ask? Well, essentially you hike up an (active) volcano, put on a crazy looking outfit and goggles, and then get on a wooden board and slide down the volcano. Seems pretty cool right?

Our hike up was beautiful. I remember looking at the volcano and thinking, “Man God makes so much beauty out of ashes. Not only in nature, but in my own life too!” It was pretty steep, and for every step forward you took two steps back because of sliding through the ash. But non the less, it was awesome and we had such incredible views.

My experience sliding down however, wasn’t as great. I started off confident and strong, but ended feeling defeated and in pain after flipping off my board…3 different times. By the time I flipped for the third time, I was at the steepest part of the volcano and thought I’d never stop flipping.  I had a mouth full of ash and woke up the next day feeling like I got hit by a truck.

If you want a better look at what this volcano boarding is, want to see the beautiful view, or just need a good laugh, watch my video below 🙂
