This year Christmas looked a little different for me. Instead of spending the week leading up to Christmas with friends, cookies, and cheesy hallmark movies, my week was spent mostly in bed with the exception of a couple “hospital” visits. Although I could think of several ways I’d much rather spend my holiday season than lying on the ground of my clay hut with malaria, I am so very grateful.

I’m grateful for the people of our village who love me like family and continually came into my hut to pray for me. I’m thankful for our squad leaders who woke us up on Christmas Day with songs, yummy treats, and the biggest smiles. I’m grateful for my team who continually extended me grace (even when I threw up on our mattress). And lastly I’m grateful for the opportunity to spend Christmas in Cote D’Ivoire, Africa with so many new friends and family. God is so so good!

Thankfully, Christmas Day I was finally on the up swing of things and even had enough energy to shower (your welcome team) and make this silly video with one of my squad leaders. Hope it gives ya a good laugh!
