This month we’ve been working with a church in Zimbabwe doing numerous different ministries. We serve in the soup kitchen, play soccer with homeless youth, help with youth/young adult Bible studies at the church, and many different children’s programs. It’s been an incredible month full of new friendships and great opportunities.

I know this is probably a huge shocker…but children’s ministry is my absolute favorite! I love being able to worship with them and watch their eyes light up as they sing and dance for our God. I love seeing their joy when they learn something new or when they get to do things, that we often take for granted, like coloring and crafts. And I absolutely adore holding their tiny little hands and ensuring them that they are seen and loved.

We’ve had a lot of that this month and although I love it, it’s also been hard. It’s hard to go into the impoverished communities and see how these children live. It’s hard to see them wearing the same tattered up clothes every day with no socks or shoes. But the hardest part for me is seeing them hungry and wondering when the next time they’ll get to eat is.

The church we are partnering with this month saw that need and prayerfully took action. They started a program called “Egg-A-Day” where they are able to deliver hard boiled eggs to children living in poverty. They go to different schools and impoverished communities to do fun and exciting children’s ministries and provide each child with a hard-boiled egg to eat each day. It’s been an incredible program to be a part of this month, and we’ve seen the difference it has made in the lives of these sweet babes.

Here’s where you come in! In order to keep this program going, our ministry host has to raise money to buy the eggs to distribute. Our hosts, who are from California, have a friend who graciously set up a Go Fund Me account to raise money for this cause. I would love for you to prayerfully consider donating towards this ministry so that together we can impact God’s children in Zimbabwe. Any donation (big or small) can make a big impact! For just $5 a month you can feed a child an egg a day every day for a whole month. That’s as easy as giving up one Starbucks drink or one Chick-fil-a meal a month! If you feel led you can donate through the Go Fund Me link below!
