Fundraising is a stressful time for everyone on the squad because we all want our squamates to be funded and have no stress about anything and this past week, that happened.

One of my squamates, Ashley, the other night still needed around 4,000$ and we were all praying that she, along with the other people fundraising, would get the funds in. As days went on Ashley was one of the last ones on our squad to still need funds and still needed well over 3,000$. We continued to pray and slowly the number started to go down. The night before the deadline was here she was right about that 3,000$ mark and so we all prayed that the funds would come in. As the morning rolled around she had dropped under 3,000$. We all rejoiced and continued to pray for her that funds would continue to come in.

As I was walking to my hammock that morning to spend some time with Jesus, Ashley was placed on my heart and I knew that I needed to spend that morning in prayer for her and her funding. I prayed that the Lord would continue to be creative and faithful in the way that He would produce the funds for her and that she would know this. As I walked down to the meal tent for breakfast I say Ashley and asked her how it was going since two hours ago and she told me that she was down to around 1,500$ left! I knew that in that moment God was going to do something amazing and so I looked right at her and said “Before noon today, all your funds will come in.” (noon where we are would’ve been midnight of the deadline back home). I prayed for her and her funds and prayed that before noon the Lord would be faithful and that all the funds would come in.

Not even an hour had passed by when I heard Ashley say “Where is Liz Slager?” and as I walked over to her she told me that all the funds had come in and that she was done fundraising. Ashley told me that she had doubts weather or not the funds would actual come in before noon and thought I was crazy. However, the Lord proved her wrong and exceeded both our expectations.

That day the Lord reminded me that we should be praying big, bold, dangerous prayers. As long as things are inline with His will and word, He wants to show us how faithful He can be and exceed all our expectations. I had nothing to do with Ashley’s funding, it was all the Lord. I just decided that I had to step out in my faith and trust that the Lord would do something amazing with what I was giving Him and guess what, He did.

With all my love,

Liz Slager

Hello Friends !! India is treating me well and I am falling more and more in love with the Lord each day that I am here. Please pray dangerous prayers for me:

  • That I will continue to experience God in new radical ways everyday
  • For the Lord to start softening all the hearts of the parents going to PVT
  • For revived energy and strength in the squad as the majority are in the “halfway slump”

I have much more access to wifi here, so feel free to email me with prayer requests, comments, questions or short life stories at [email protected]

I love you all and I appreciate all the prayers that you have been praying for me and my teammates/squadmates
