I
love to
dance.
Not just the act of it, but the simplicity of it- the emotions behind
it. When I picture my intimate relationship with Christ, I see me as
a little girl
dancing
with her Father. I see a curly red-headed girl, with a white flowy
dress on
dancing
in a field. It’s a beautiful picture, really, that always seems to
evoke peace and put a soft smile on my face.

The
above statement is just an “in into my heart and my relationship
with my Creator and Father, but doesn’t technically foreshadow the
real purpose behind this blog. In fact, there is no main purpose
behind it, except to hopefully make you
smile

I
have had the opportunity to
dance
all over the world and have done so in all 13 countries I have been
to so far this year.

During
our 24-hours of prayer in Australia, we had a mini
dance
party, where this
man challenged me to a
dance
off.

Danny
Stinson and I choreographed a
dance
to do for our entire squad during our first debrief in the
Philippines.

Victoria
Maynez and I
danced
with some
Kenyan’s during half-time of the USA world cup game.

In
Uganda, I taught the kids a
dance
at the school we were working with.

During
the Awakening, a conference for all 5 squads on the field, we had a
squad-wide
dance
off.

While
Erin Crain and I were “teaching an English class yesterday, we
asked who they thought was a better
dancer,
Erin or Liz? The majority of the classes guessed me- and you know I
would parade it around in Erin’s face. One gutsy class asked me to
prove it. I never back down from a dare, even though I definitely did
not want to “performâ€ in front of a class of 17-19 year olds….
but never the less, I got my ipod and speakers out, turned on some
Lecrae (Christian rap) and awkwardly started moving to the beat. I
finally loosened up and even busted out the
worm….

(I don’t exactly have a picture of my dancing.. but this is me, pre dance, in the awkward stage)

Thank
you, thank you- oh please, hold your applause.

below is the video of Danny and I dancing in the Philippines…
