A huge thank you to all of those who were obedient and answered God’s call to donate in April, and to pray over this weekend.
We made a couple hundred at the garage sales this weekend, so thank you so much to those of you who donated your items – it wouldn’t have been possible without those clothing and household items donations!
I also showed up to the 5K for Refugees to train with my backpack, and met someone who’s donation will put me well over my first deadline of 5,000 by May 15th. I know that this donation is a result of you guys praying for not only me to listen to what God is telling me, but also a result of you praying for God to open people’s hearts and connect me with those who are passionate about missions work.
God is answering those prayers. He continues to build my trust and relationship with him through this process of showing me how he works, and proving over and over again how faithful he and his followers are. This is the trust that God builds through this process that is going to enable me to trust him in difficult situations on the World Race. Please continue to pray, as I take on my next deadline of being at 15,000 before launch in August.
Another small reward this weekend – I did my first ever 5k! I walked it/ ran for a bit with my backpack weighed between 15- 20 pounds. I did the 5k in 51 minutes! My fitness test in June has me doing 3 miles in 50 minutes with my gear. I am continuing to train and work out every day and eat healthy, but I could tell that my hard work in April has paid off. It felt so good to cross that finish line!
