We have made it to our ministry location! We are tucked away in the Himalayan Mountains about a 3-hour sweaty bus ride north of Kathmandu.  We were told the bus ride would increase our prayer life, but it was surprisingly smooth weaving through the mountain roads.  Now, if I had been told to sit on the roof, where passengers overflowed to when there was no more room inside, I can assure you Jesus and I would have had a pretty good conversation.

We are staying right next to a church on the edge of a drop off to a rapidly flowing river that is crossed by a rather sturdy suspension bridge. The view is incredible and I feel as if we are in the middle of a tropical, mountainous rain forest. The clouds never fully lift from the mountain peaks during the day, and rain can be expected every afternoon. It is quite a change from the rapid pace and assault of the senses that India welcomed us with.

Our ministry this month is quite relaxed as well. We will be hiking from village to village and covering our steps with prayer. Previous world race teams have been here in the past who have preached the gospel, so we will be watering seeds planted. Once again we are waiting in anticipation to see what the Lord will call us to, and who He will bring into our path.

As we wait on Him, will you partner with us in prayer? The majority of Nepal is un-reached, with only 1.9% who are Christians and the majority of the rest who have never heard the gospel in their life. The spirit of oppression is strong here, and the Christian population is extremely persecuted for their faith. The government, and social status are against them to the point of attempting to set up laws to imprison those who convert to the Christian faith.

Sex trafficking is a big problem here. Young girls are sold by their brothers/husbands/fathers for money or for temple sacrifice to the gods. They are primarily taken to India, but the Nepal police are proposing to the government to start a red light area in Kathmandu.

Thank you for your prayers! Pray that our team continues to grow closer together and we would use any spare time that we have to seek the Lord and grow closer to His heart! I am so blessed to be surrounded by a group of people who love the Lord so much and listen to Him so well. We are learning how to act as a body of Christ and how much we need one another.

Love you and be blessed today!
