Thinking about supporting me? Weeelll you are in luck. Just incase you want to be creative, or were wondering just how to go about giving, I have compiled a list of a few ways in which you can personalize your support.
First of all, ask the Lord into this process. Everything you have, including every skill, possession, relationship, etc has been given to you from the Lord. His heart behind missions/giving/praying cannot be covered in one post…it would take a pretty HUGE book (haha). Read Malachi 3:10 where the Lord asks us to test him in the area of finances. Read Luke 10:2-4 where Jesus gives us a prayer request to ask for workers to go into the world and proclaim the kingdom of God. Finally, read the great commission of Matthew 28 where we all are commanded to do the Lord’s work. Ask Him to give you His eyes and His heart for the world. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Before you do anything else… scroll down slightly, look to the left of the page and enter your email into the "subscribe for updates" spot. That way emails will be sent to you every time I update (weekly) so you can stay informed!
1. Pray/Get involved/Ask Questions. This is my number one for many reasons. Ultimately I know that if I am supposed to be on this trip, the Lord will provide the finances, but bear with me because here is a piece of my heart:
I would love to have a team of people standing beside me and praying with me every step of the way. I would love for you to fall in love with a country that I am in during this process. You may not be leaving with me now, but maybe something will stir in you that draws you to go overseas in the future as you pray with me. I want to be able to come back and support you, as you get ready to go. I want come home in May to friends who I don’t have to start from square one again, but have remained constant through out this next year. I really cannot do this without your support. End tangent.
2. One-time payment/monthly payments.
This is the method you are probably the most familiar with! Click on the “support me” tab to the left and follow the steps. This is so easy and so helpful.
3. Support according to # of days on the field:
It costs $15,500 total for the World Race. Divide that by the number of days on the field (~330) and you get approx. $47 per day. Right now I have $2,341 raised, meaning I am covered for about 50 days. 280 days left to go!!
4. Support according to a country:
Take a look at the list of countries that I will be traveling to. Does one really peak your interest? Is there one that you would absolutely love to go to? Email me and tell me about it! Consider supporting me for half of the month that I am there ($704). Keep me informed and I would love to send you something while in that country!
5. Got some spare miles?
While all of my travel expenses are paid for during the race, I need to get to and from training camp (May 19th-26th in Atlanta, GA) and well as to the launch site in July. If you happen to have a few extra air miles lying around, shoot me an email!
6. Help me with my packing list!
While I am fortunate enough to already own some of the big ticket items on my packing list, there are still a few needs that I have to buy. If you have any of these items that you do not use, or want to give a gift as opposed to money, I have attached a list of what I need!
7. Ideas/travel information/etc!
