Uganda As more and more people are finding out what God is doing in my life I have been surprised by the responses. Most are so encouraging and loving it really blows me away. Others not so much. I have received a variety of responses and questions, some like:
"Wow, What an adventure. You are going to have so much fun."
I do hope to have a lot of fun and to make many unforgettable memories with God's sons and daughters but this is so much more that having fun. In fact I'm sure there will be times when it won't be fun at all but very spiritually challenging. I'm not going on a vacation. I'm not going to lay up in the sun and work on my tan or go take pictures by pretty mountains. This is a trip of abandonment. To leave behind the comforts of my life and to be stretched and molded for the Kingdom. This is not at all about me or my squad mates but about Jesus, about showing his love to "the least of these".
“Can you bring me back something from every country?”
Lol,sure.
"You’re going where? For how Long? Why in the world would you want to do something like that!? You know you really should go onto grad school and get a good job"
Its simple-Cause God told me to! I could try and plan out my life, doing what "the world" says is logical or is expected for someone approaching their mid-twenties but where would that get me? “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ." Galatians 1:10
“You know there are spiders out there as big as your head, aren’t you scared!?”
Uhhhhhh lets not talk about that!
"Oh my Gosh, that is amazing! Are you excited? How do you feel?”
Excited cannot describe the feelings that are going on inside me right now! When I think about what God is going to do, how he is going to be glorified and where he is going to take me physically and spiritually I seriously can't hide my joy. Come on January!
