We’ve been in Uganda for about a week now and the thing that jumps out at me the most is the joy that the people here have. I walk down the street and the smiles on people’s faces are so big. Their joy and love is unmistakable. Its contagious. I love that despite living in hard circumstances and difficult situations, they have this pure joy in their lives. Its shines from them. We live in an orphanage this month and the children there shine with this joy and this love that just permeates from every ounce of their being. Its beautiful. I know that they have experienced pain and hardship, but we learn from them. They give more love than I could ever imagine. This month I think I will learn how to be joyful in all circumstances.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

I thought that money would be a huge concern when I first started this journey, but I’ve found that its one of the last things on my mind. I know that God is taking care of things. I’m actually doing pretty well in the support area. God is faithful and he has really provided for me. I am so thankful for that. I haven’t had to worry so far about not meeting deadlines. When he calls us to do something, he definitely provides and I have no doubt that he will provide the remaining funds for the race.

Currently I have $10,078.07 in my account, which means I still need $4,721.93 to be fully funded.
 I need $421.93 by November 1
I need $4,721.93 by February 1
