Welcome to my World Race blog!!! I'm going to try to keep up with this as much as possible, but blogging is kind of new to me, so bear with me. I'm so excited about this next year, and I can't wait to see what God has in store for me and my new squadmates.

So, I don't know how many of you read my about me section, but I am a senior in college this year, and like many of the other seniors, I have been a little stressed about what to do after graduation. I want so badly to do what God wants me to do, what he has called me to do, but I had such a hard time discerning what that was. I have spent the last two years praying and talking with my friends about that. And a few nights wondering if I would ever know.

I heard about the World Race from a couple people at school and I was immediately interested. I love missions, and I love people. What could be better, right? A combo of my favorite things. I was set on doing this. But then fear set in. Me, the shy one in my group of friends, leave everything I know for a year to go meet a group of people that I don't know and travel the world with them? I could never do that. I could never have that much faith. So I gave up and decided to just get a job.

But my good friend, Madison, told me that if God is calling me to do this, I could not say no. If he was calling me, then I should go for it. She gave me faith that I could do this. God used her to show me that he has a bigger plan for me than just getting a job that I wouldn't like. I have faith that God has called me to something bigger, and I am so incredibly excited to see what that may be.

Mother Theresa says in A Gift from God:Prayers in Meditations, "To show great love for God and our neighbor we need not do great things. It is how much love we put in the doing that makes our suffering Something Beautiful for God."

That is one of my favorite quotes because we do not have to do something great and amazing in order to do something that pleases our Lord. Our work does not have to be grand and magnificent. It matters so much more that we love. Love is the most amazing gift we can give a person. So I strive to give that to everyone I see, and I ask myself if I have accomplished that task each and every day.
