I spent Christmas on the beach this year. We live right by the coast in Thailand, and we got to experience the waves, sand, and sun for the holidays this year. Then, we got to fellowship with some local missionaries at a Christmas bbq. It was a lot different than home, but somehow it felt a little like home anyway. Maybe it was spending it with people that you have been with for months, 24/7. Or maybe it was the love surrounding us. Regardless, it was a day to celebrate Jesus and be thankful for the place he has put us in.
I’ve thought a lot lately about the way my tastes have changed in the last couple of months. From loving Christmas and holidays to thinking about how gifts aren’t really a necessary part of life. I used to love getting and giving gifts. But this year I am thinking about how there are millions of people around the world who don’t get presents for Christmas. That don’t experience the exorbitant amount of food that we have on holidays. I am thinking about how so many people are content and satisfied with what the Lord has given them. Its eye opening.
I love that the Lord has placed me here for this season. He is doing some awesome things in my life, as well as others around me. This year, I’ve decided that all I want for Christmas is to be fully funded. So that I can continue on this journey with the Lord. So that I can continue to be blessed and shaped by him. So that I can see what he is doing in others lives and be a blessing to them.
My final fundraising goal is coming up on February 1, 2012. That may seem like a long way away right now, but its only five weeks away. If I am not fully funded by then, I will have to go home. Help me stay on the Race. Help me continue to bring the kingdom of God to the nations. That is my Christmas wish.
I currently have $12,943 in my support account. How I got there, I have no idea. All I can say is that the Lord has been taking care of me. I still need $1,857 to be fully funded. That is less than 2k.
5 weeks to deadline
6 countries more to serve in
$1,857 left to raise
