This month we are in Transnistria with another team. We are
working with a church here helping them build stuff and doing youth programs on
the weekends. Its one of those weird months when I don’t love it here, but I
don’t dislike it either. I love our living situation. We are staying in an orphanage
that we’re helping get ready for summer clubs, so its just the 14 of us here.
There are so many places to go and be alone, so its kind of a paradise for us
introverts. And we get to cook for ourselves, which is always fun.

Sometimes we work at the orphanage painting or sanding or
weeding, but the last few days we’ve been working on the new training center
that they’re building. This is what a typical day looks like for us:

7:30 am – eat breakfast (corn flakes or scrambled eggs)

8:00 am – leave for ministry – walk 15 minutes to the bus
stop, take a 30 minute bus ride, and then another 20 minute walk to the
ministry site

9:30-5pm – dig bricks out of dirt piles and chisel them
until they’re usable

5:00 pm – leave to go home – walk 20 minutes to the bus
stop, 30 minute bus ride, walk 15 minutes home

6:30 pm – start cooking dinner (we take turns)

8:00 pm – eat dinner

8:30 pm – team time

Its one of the busiest and most physical demanding months on
the Race for me. But I actually am really liking it here. Its busy, but its
really good. It’s a good start to our last month on the Race.
