Today was an interesting day. I was the main usher for the
main session for a large conference called “Call to All”. I was in charge of many volunteers and needed to get
a lot of tasks done and done well. Some of these tasks included seating the
guests, pointing out the restrooms, finding a system to pass out items and to
collect any offerings, etc…  This
stuff is the basic stuff, then of course there are instances that are special.
In this case, there were many. There was a child that needed to have their
parent come promptly to their child, the session went long, and many things
were skipped that should not have been skipped. At the end, I was tired.

 But as I was
cleaning up the area after the session was over (straighting up the chairs,
picking up trash and left over flyers, etc…) I passed out some of the left
behind flyers to the people in the upper bleachers. Many took them (yay! less
trash) and then a little girl just came up to me and decided to be my friend. I
have never seen this girl before, but she just walked with me and brought me
back to reality. She brought me back to a place of peace. It was as if all of
the craziness of before had just seemed to melt away. I was with her and she
was with me. We talked about me being a big helper for the conference. She told
me her name and that she was from the island of Samoa.

So many times we just rush through life and miss the many
mini blessings that God has before us on the way. What blessings have you
missed or overlooked because you were too busy?
