We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip. Here is what I’m expecting…

  I Expect:

The Unexpected

To be Surprised

To Transform & be transformed

                                   -Heart
                                   -Mind
                                   -Soul
                                   -Body
                                  -Lifestyle

To be challenged

            –emotionally making relationships then leaving
                                              seeing the many children
missing home (the people, comfort, food etc…)
             –spiritually   seeing extreme poverty
–socially          Living in a constant community
             –physically     I’m carrying 40+ pounds
living in rough conditions and a tent
                                              the food

I am looking forward to…

         KENYA & UGANDA
Right now I am learning Swahili and I cannot wait to use the skills I am  learning
I would love to work with children in these countries.

        NEW ZEALAND
I have done a seismic hazard analysis (aka ‘Earthquake Report’) on a city in New Zealand. I have done a lot of
research on this country, and I am excited to really see and experience it for myself.
(On the downside, I know  which parts of the country are really seismically active!!)

      EASTERN EUROPE

This where my roots are from. It will be interesting to see how well I interact with ‘my people’.
