An update from the Philippines from Kelsey and me.

First of all, I just want to thank all of you for the prayers.  They are being heard and ANSWERED. We are in awe as we watch this process from this side, and continuing to trust that the Lord will provide in scenarios that seem impossible without His presence.

The blog I posted yesterday about Dulag was seen by the necessary people to put Dulag on the map.  Through a chain of postings, a US Navy helicopter pilot said read it and responded  “I will personally add Dulag to the list of villages and towns we are dropping aid to and try my best to take a load of food/water there tomorrow.” SPEECHLESS.

Becky and Lalyn are currently landing in Dulag and surveying the scene for resources and assessing the needs so that we can gather necessary resources here in Manila before our departure in the coming days.

We recognize that they are hopefully receiving food today but that we have been called to this place as nurses and can only assume that medical attention is in dire need.

We plan to travel to Dulag via an airplane to Cebu and then catching a boat to Dulag. However, there are weight limits of one 11 kg bag per passenger for the plane trip.

We know that more medical supplies than this are needed and we are currently seeking out resources that will help us to get supplies from Manila to Tacloban and then from Tacloban to Dulag.

Please pray for the doors to be opened and transportation made available so that we can have adequate supplies when serving this community.

Additionally, in the last few days we have met multiple nurses (who are Philippina) that would love to join us in our efforts. They will be such an extreme asset for us since we are not fluent in Tagalog. In order for them to come with us, we would need support for their tickets to travel.

Tickets are $51 one way.

We are unsure of the cost of a boat ride but we cannot imagine it would be that much. If our efforts are something that has been tugging on your heart, a tangible way to help would be to support the flights to allow these ladies to join us.

UPDATE: A direct donation link has been added to Wipe Every Tear’s website, titled Typhoon Haiyan Relief. This will go directly towards supporting our efforts. Click here

Thank you all SO much. Please continue to pray, specifically for safety and access to transportation for medical supplies and goods to Dulag.
