You know it. I know it. Period.

Asking people for money is always a drag even when it’s for a good and noble cause like the World Race. I am literally stepping away from everything to live out of a backpack with people I’ve never met to go live out what Jesus taught us.  In 11 different countries no less. I’ll be in a tent and sleeping bag most of the time so this is clearly not a paid for vacation but a missions trip. My comfort? Kind of irrelevant. Even with all of that I’m pretty sure fundraising will be my least favorite thing about the World Race. Ok now we got that outta the way.

The bottom line is this. It costs money for me to do this so I need your help. As of right now I am about one third from my first fundraising goal I am 30% funded I’m 42% funded. I know that God meets racers on the field and moves in peoples lives that so few of us here in America often ask for or experience. You should check out some of the crazy awesome things happening on the field right now with other racers. These stories of transformation, redemption, and hope are what drew me into thinking I could live out of a backpack to begin with. Also, please know that your gift of any shape or size will be used to send me to go spread His kingdom and know that I thank you.

There are several ways you could help a sistah out.

1. Give online. See that link to your left that says “Support Me!”? All you have to do is click it and decide whether you want to give a one time gift or monthly. It is really up to you. Remember that the WR is through Adventures in Missions and all donations are tax deductible. You can also donate via paypal if you want to help cover the costs of preparing for the race.

2. I am also doing Super Sweet Fundraising through my Facebook page. These purchases/donations will help cover vaccinations, travelers insurance, and equipment needed.  (Did you know that it costs $122 for the yellow fever vaccine!?) If you are reading this blog you should probably go like me on facebook too.

3. If you want to celebrate my birthday 3 months early you could always buy me a gift card from REI. I still need a sleeping pad, tent, and other odds and ends. If you’re not really outdoorsy, like me, you might be surprised to see how expensive these things can get. Basically I gotta get the good stuff because it has to last and it has to work for almost constant use for 11 month so I am going for quality.

4. One other thing. I would really really love some prayer. I’ll keep you posted about needs and struggles through this blog but if you really want to be in the know you should check out my facebook page. Oh and one more thing…

THANK YOU. Seriously, Thank you.
