I’ve been beating myself up the last two weeks because I felt like I didn’t spend enough time meditating, reflecting, or praying ergo I haven’t really written anything. Today I realized writing IS how I reflect on what God is showing me so y’all are just gonna have to deal with my haphazard thoughts pouring out unfiltered aka heart vomit. I have always been a verbal processer so there you go.
Today I tried going on a prayer walk. I remember some girls in my cabin one summer talking to me about prayer walks but I’ve never really done one before. I thought I would give it a shot since nothing else really seems to be working for me right now. It went pretty well I guess. It definitely helped quiet my mind so that I could focus on one thing and sort of hand it over to God. I still believe that it’s ok when we can’t be super star pray-ers because the Spirit prays on our behalf and He knows what’s up. I had my iPod on my Jesus playlist (Yes. It IS in fact called Jesus Music) but I wasn’t really listening until this particular song came on. As I was listening I began to have visions of Spring and renewal. It seemed pretty darn fitting for where I am in my relationship with God sooooo today’s Music Monday goes to Beautiful Things by Gungor. I guess the lyrics are pretty repetitive but sometimes we really need the truth hammered into us so I hope this song hammers the truth into you too. Enjoy.
Beautiful Things
All this pain
I wonder if I’ll ever find my way
I wonder if my life could really change at all
All this earth
Could all that is lost ever be found
Could a garden come up from this ground at all
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
All around
Hope is springing up from this old ground
Out of chaos life is being found in You
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
You make me new, You are making me new
You make me new, You are making me new
You are making me new
