I’m home! I can’t believe I made it through the World Race. I can’t fully wrap my mind around the things I have learned this year. I have seen the Father move in ways I didn’t know He still did. I have seen His love on display in the simple act of giving a child a drink of water as they walked home from school. I have seen His grace on display when He picked me up after falling. This season has allowed me to grow and be discipled, bringing me to a new understanding of who God is and what Kingdom on earth looks like. And by the grace of God this season isn’t over! I’ve been accepted to an internship in South Africa starting January 2016! The internship is through a program called Trulife. Trulife goes into schools in the Durban area and teaches moral values on bullying, identity, justice, human trafficking and more. They do this through relevant multimedia productions. I will also be partnering with a children’s village called Ingane Yami. Ingane Yami brings kids from the Durban area into forever homes with the goal of restoring their lives and families. I partnered with Ingane Yami this past November for Month 11 of my trip and had the opportunity to see these kids thriving and hear their stories. I got to talk to their moms about what it was like for the kids to move into the village and they told me powerful testimonies of what a home ruled by love can do in the life of a child. I cannot wait to be working with these moms and kids again!
Leaving in January is definitely a quick turnover, but I know God is doing powerful work through Ingane Yami and Trulife, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with them this coming year. If you would, please consider supporting me next year! The total cost of the internship is $700/ month, so about $10,000 for the year (including visa/transportation costs). A monthly donation of $75, $50, or $30 would go so far, and one time donations are just as valuable!
