Everyone is unique. Yeah, we all know that, but rarely do we realize just how true and valuable this is. Each and every one of us was designed by the Creator to serve a unique purpose in the Kingdom. AS members of the Body of Christ, we must recognize that each of us carry our own individual reflection of Christ. this is the way it is designed and this is the way it’s supposed to be. We aren’t always going to like one another and we aren’t always going to get along, but our imperfections have no right to dictate Kingdom effectiveness. We all, as the Body, are called to be one, just as Christ and the Father are One.
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” John 17: 20-21
Our individual walk with the Lord is essential, of course, but it isn’t exclusive. Our walk isn’t private, it’s meant to be shared and experienced by the entire body of believers. We have all been called together. There is a unique aspect of Christ in all of us that others need. We are not just called to hang out together, study the Word, maybe worship together every so often. We are called to be one, just as the Father is in Christ and Christ is in the Father. Oneness. Not only does full investment in your brothers and sisters lead to edification and growth, but the evidence of Christ to the rest of the world is best represented in the way we love each other. God is love and in this world we are like Christ. Love one another and be made whole by God’s love for you.
