God Is Doing Big Things In Poland!

Four days ago I boarded a train in Kyiv, Ukraine and my mind is scattered thinking of how I can tell you about all the incredible things that have happened, God’s provision and people I have met since Monday.  I rode on a train from Kyiv to L’viv and met some funny Ukranian men (please see Day 1 video for more).  I met up with some friends in L’viv that work for Mission To The World, who bought our tickets and grabbed dinner with us.  I rode a midnight train to Krakow, which Blair named the Polish Express. At the 11th hour God gave us a free place to stay in Krakow with this sweet girl Lee G, who works for IMB and is just fun.  Our friend Jeremy with Compass International who we have only known about a week set all of this up.  We were able to visit Auschwitz and learn about the tragedy that occurred there during the Holocaust.  We found an amazing cookie shop owned by missionaries. Click here to check out ‘More Than A Cookie’.  We then moved an hour outside of Krakow with Dan, Laura & Jacob Hash from Josiah Venture.  Last night we met friends of theirs, Greg & Erin who work with Kings Kids, a ministry off of YWAM.  Tonight we are going to a Sports Outreach with some of their other friends.  I am currently sitting on a king-sized bed in Katowice, Poland in their home and I am forgetting where I am.  Tomorrow I will get on a plane to Munich, Germany where I get to see Young Life, a ministry that has impacted my life greatly.  Is this a dream?  Am I really getting to see all this work going on in Europe to further the Kingdom of God? People say Europe is a dark place and I believe them, but God is moving in this dark place and there are people all over the place doing His work!  Read below about some of this work!

 

In the picture to the left meet Jeremy and Lee.  They are full time missionaries in Krakow, Poland working with IMB and Compass International.  Click here to see Compass’s website and click here to see videos of what they are doing.  Lee does a lot of the media side of the ministry and Jeremy works with and plays on the American football team.  The heart behind all they are doing is to make disciples of Christ.  They are both involved in Bible studies and various forms of discipleship and reaching out to the people of Krakow.  Krakow is a SWEET city and we had a blast spending time with them and hearing their stories.  Please pray for these two and their ministry in Krakow, Poland.

 

We are currently staying with Dan, Laura & Jacob Hash with Josiah Venture.  Josaih Venture’s mission is “to equip young leaders throughout Eastern Europe to fulfill Christ’s commission through the local church.”  The Hash’s have been in Poland for over 15 years and their ministry is solid and established.  In less than an hour of conversation it was clear this family is on fire for God and how their heart beats for young people to know the gospel.  If I ever come back to Poland I will for sure visit them. Also in Katowice, we got to spend the evening with Greg, Erin and their two beautiful little girls.  They work with a ministry called Kings Kids through Youth With A Mission.  Erin is originally from Alabama, but Greg grew up in Poland in this very city.  Their ministry is a continuation of something started from Greg’s family many years ago.  It involves English clubs, Hip hop classes, Bible studies and much more.  You can visit this blog to learn more about what King’s Kids is doing here in Katowice.  Last night we were able to participate in one of their English clubs and share about our year.  Please pray for their ministry also!
