I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in all my prayers
–Ephesians 1:16
I hope this letter finds you and your family well in this Easter season! In just this past year alone, the Lord has moved in amazing ways in my life. I turned 21 years old in April, had an internship in China for six weeks over the summer, graduated from Auburn University in December, and took my first real job and moved to Atlanta in January. Despite all these life changes, it has been a humbling experience to see God’s provision through it all. I am a true testament that the Father takes care of his children.
As many of you know, my true passion is for building relationships with people from all walks of life. Since middle school, I have known I am meant for a life that doesn’t look traditional and involves a lot of sacrifice and discomfort. One of my favorite passages in scripture is in Acts 4, when Paul and John stand in custody before the council. They were charged not to speak anymore in the name of Jesus and their response is this: “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.” It is because of this type of faith that I can say with assurance that I’ve been called to go. Because I know the grace of Christ and see a broken world in need, I simply can’t help it.
In September of this year, I will be embarking on the World Race, a mission program under the organization: Adventures in Missions (AIM). The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip, but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the hope of the Lord’s love to many tribes and nations. My journey will take me to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
I would absolutely love for you to partner with me in this ministry! The best way this can be done is through prayer. Please pray that God would prepare the hearts of those we come in contact with and that they might know the name of Jesus. Pray for our team members to be open to change and be prepared to accomplish everything God has planned.
Secondly, I am boldly asking you to consider being a financial supporter. In order to leave fully funded, I need to raise $16,278. This money will be used to cover the cost of travel, food, and board over the course of the year. Whether you can give a one-time donation, or commit to being a monthly donor, any amount will be immensely appreciated and work towards funding this mission! You can support me financially online or by writing a check.
If you choose to make your donation online, you may do so by visiting my blog at: lizdavy.theworldrace.org. Just click the “Support Me!” link on the left-hand side of the page and complete your donation as instructed. If you are interested in being a monthly partner, prayerfully consider donating until December 28, 2015, as I must be fully funded by this time.
If you choose to write a check, see the response card included. This card provides AIM with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your tax-deductible donation. Please be sure to make checks payable to Adventures In Missions.
I am so incredibly grateful for your partnership in the gospel. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter and pray alongside my team. I have faith that lives will be changed through this journey and the Lord will provide the means to go. Please keep in touch with my blog throughout the upcoming months to stay updated on our ministry and the big ways God is using your prayers and finances. Feel free to contact me for any questions, comments, or prayer requests you have. I would love to hear about how I can pray for you by name as well.
Grace & peace,
Liz
