Just a few random things you may want to know about this month in Honduras:

  • You get excited when you hear the water come on downstairs after a few days, it means water for the buckets when going #2 and showers!

  • You have to laugh when you have a 45 min car ride to a youth group in the back of the truck and it starts pouring and there is no way to stay dry.

  • You have to smell your clothes twice to see if they smell okay to wear again, or ask another teammate to smell them. Body spray helps to wear it at least one or two more times before doing laundry.

  • You think you are living first class when you go somewhere that has a flushing toilet, free toilet paper and soap.

  • You are sweating just sitting down in a tank top…with a fan blowing on you.

  • You keep the napkins from meal time to use for future toilet paper. When you go to a restaurant, you ask for more napkins just to stuff in your bag to use later.

  • You buy aloe vera and put it on your lobster red arms and the next morning the redness is completely gone. They have 100% aloe…some potent stuff right there.

  • You call cold bucket showers refreshing and the best part of the day…I don’t even remember what hot water feels like.

  • You think a hammock or sleeping pad is more comfortable than a bed.

  • You WILL get pooped on by bats flying around in an old gold mine when you talk a little too loud and they freak out.

I am 85% funded for the race. If you are interested in helping me get to 100%, navigate to the "Support Me" tab under my picture and donate. Thank you so much for your prayers!

God Bless!
