Tents: This month in the wonderful 7,000ft elevation, we are sleeping in tents.  I personally love it because I like to camp, but a few are ready to sleep elsewhere.  The weather is very nice, upper 70s during the day and jacket weather at night.  The scenery is amazing! Mountains, clear sky with a million stars, and the Guatemala is just beautiful.

Markets: First Guatemalan market experience was a bit overwhelming with all 59 of us trying to get through the tiny aisles.  After that, I have had so much fun going to get food.  They have everything, especially fresh fruit.  The pineapple here is delicious, I’m pretty sure we have eaten it every day maybe even twice a day.  We have to go to the market every 2-3 days because we don’t have room to store it.

Kids: There are a lot of them!  They are so beautiful.  They are so sweet and so small.  My team and another team are working at a daycare this month with kids ranging from highchair aged to 7-8 years olds.  They have so much energy, speak no English and they love to play with our watches.  We are also helping the daycare by building a playground for the kids.  We are making/building a swing set, slide, seesaw, a tunnel they can go through, and tires they can play on.  I love the kids but I am glad we get to do some manual labor to help the daycare in the long run.

Freedom:  God has been working here in Guatemala….like a lot!  Our squad has had sessions every night to talk about stuff from our past that has held them back in doing ministry.  There has been a lot of crying, praying, laughing, and dancing!  God is revealing to us what to let go of in our lives, what we need to work on, and how to forgive those who have hurt us in the past.  Draining for sure, but much needed.

Guatemala has been amazing so far and it has only been a week! I cannot wait to see what the rest of this month has in store for us and also the 10 ½ months left on the race.  Thank you for your prayers, keep them coming! Pray for health, some of us are getting sick from the water or food.  Pray that we will have opportunities to share God’s word to the people who need it.

God Bless!

P.S. More pictures to come!
