Water- In Tegucigalpa, the city water comes on only 2-3 days a week, depending what neighborhood you are living in. The more wealthy neighborhoods get more water than the poorer neighborhoods. With that being said, we have been filling up buckets to last the days without water.  One morning, we noticed the water basin was getting really low and we had two more days left before the water was coming on.  We gathered as a team and prayed for the multiplication of water and left for ministry.  During the day, some of the teammates were feeling sick so they headed back to the house. When we got back form ministry that night, we found out the water came back on long enough for us to refill the buckets, the water basin, do laundry, and take showers. How awesome is that?  There have been two more times that we prayed for water when we got really low and God provided for us! God is so cool!

Laundry- We have been hand washing clothes since Guatemala so it’s not a huge deal anymore. I think I have mastered hand washing and hang drying clothes!  Since we have to conserve water, we prayed that we would have enough water for laundry, thinking God would provide a little extra water for us to do 7+ loads of laundry. God’s thought process was a bit different, He decided to have other people offer to do our laundry! Blanca, the lady who’s roof we repaired, offered to wash our clothes….in her washing machine! We jumped on that offer, ran back to our house to get our clothes and had some nice smelling clothes after that.  Earlier this week, a lady from the church offered to wash our clothes, it was just a huge blessing. We have another offer from a lady from the church. I don’t know why they are wanting to do 7 Americans’ laundry…maybe they think we cannot hand wash clothes properly or they are just overly nice and want to welcome us in their lives and their church by doing something they are good at. Either way, we are very appreciative of their offers.

Food- We helped repair a roof of a church family the first 4 days we were in Honduras. Blanca, the homeowner, felt the need to bless us by cooking us meals. We ate almost every meal with her the four days we worked on her house. She also got us coca cola….it tasted so good!

Car Rides- Moises and Moises Jr., the pastor and his son, have been driving us everywhere.  They pick us up for service, for a trip to the mall and to youth groups.  Even though we have to sit in the back of the pickup, we have been so blessed by having some mode of transportation. There is nothing like riding in the back for a 45-minute ride when it starts pouring down rain.  All you can do at that point is to make the best of it, laugh and pray that is doesn’t rain on the way home.

Great Friends- I feel so blessed to have met the people at the church and the pastor and his family. Moises, Sofia and Isaiah have been so incredibly welcoming to us. I cannot wait to spend more time with them and hear their stories. Also, this is the first month my team is together without the rest of the squad.  We may not see eye to eye every time but God has blessed me with an amazing team and an amazing family to do life with.
