We made it to Ghana! Man is it beautiful! We are in a small town called Keta, it’s a small quaint fishing town. It is full of the kindest people, voices that a sound and tone more captivating than can be adequately described in words, and THE BEST ice cream EVER! I’m not even joking you. It’s like a vanilla milkshake that actually taste like funfetti birthday cake in a little plastic bag that you just drink out like a gogurt. Talk about a dream!

Here we are partnering with literally the Ghana version of my father. If you know anything about my dad you know his heart is the size of Texas, and his desire to help the people in his community engulfs everything he does. Pastor Paul is no different! He has a heart and desire to see the entire town of Keta and the entire country of Ghana come to know the Lord. So, his mission is to do as many things as possible to bring people to Jesus.

He runs a gym on the beach (yes I said a gym!!) also a dream. This gym is free to the community and he works to teach healthy and spiritual living. He has a school and young boys home where he teaches the kids and young men about how to walk with the Lord, and how to be men of God. He is involved in all of the churches in the town of Keta and desires for them to be unified more than anything. He is constantly doing prayer meetings (told you he is my dad lol) to bring all the pastors together. He digs clean water wells around all of the villages to try and get clean water out to the people in this town. I mean this man does ALOT! His mansion in heaven is about to be bomb.

So, we have been partnering and helping him any way we can.
Today we made cement from scratch and helped build walls to a new room for the school Pastor Paul started. TALK ABOUT EMPOWERING! Ya girl knows her way with a shovel! My hands are covered in blisters, but my heart is covered in joy.
We’ve been doing a lot of school ministry which is too cute. So, we’ve been going to different schools in different villages and teaching the kids about Jesus and leading them into worship.
All last week we did crusades every night and got to witness people come to the Lord which was so beautiful.Every day at 3 we go to the beach and play with all the kids in the community.

I’m continuing to learn so much about myself. All the good, bad and ugly.
But God continues to show His goodness through the ugliest places in me.
Most of all my heart is being opened more and more to the reality that life is not about changing the world through grandiose gestures that will get you in history books. It’s about changing your world by using what you have in your hand. It’s about looking to your right and left at the people surrounding you, and choosing to give them your best everyday. It’s about choosing gratitude. It’s about loving the freaking mess out of your babies. It’s about getting to know the lady that checks you out at the grocery store every week. It’s about taking the time to find out how your co workers feel loved and doing whatever that is for them.

Life is messy and people need to be loved and helped and held in the mess, and I’m realizing that to love and be loved is the greatest gift God gave to us. So, take the pressure off and realize that’s enough.

Also, send a prayer up saints my hair is currently orange…and ain’t nothing I can do about it…it started as dark red but then the slippery slope of being out in the sun all the time led to this. I may or may not look like a bag of Cheetos but there are no mirrors in Africa so it balances out. Shout out to Meagan Cain…I should have listened to you/ that is all.

Love ya!
