As you know I am on the field working as a missionary fighting a cause I really believe in. There are hundreds and thousands of Asian women who sell their bodies for sex every single night as a result of being a slave to poverty. As I watched a documentary about the sex trade called nefarious, they mentioned an unbelievable quote made by a former pimp who had become a Christian and chose to dedicate his life to fighting the trade. This quote alone with a few others changed me in a way I could not be silent about this matter any longer. He said; “statistically speaking, If you buy 1 solid kilo of crak you will make $10,000 instantly, but thats all you will make on that SAME kilo of crak. But a prostitute is a gold mine, i could sell her up to 30 times a day making $2,000 to $3,000 per customer.” ok, so it was shocking at first, and yes it broke me in a way that I couldn’t believe. Soon the shock began to fade out of my mind until the day I moved the Philippines and came face to face with human slavery at its worst. in 2.2 miles there were 1,500 bars full of 50-70 girls who were being trafficked and forced to work as slaves to the foreign man. In the Philippines I partnered with an organization who gives a bar girl every reason to leave the bars. They pay for school, living expenses, as well as help send money back home to their poor families in the provinces. I was on the fount lines coming face to face with the fear in her eyes when she was called on with green light lasers by a strange man with a sick obsession to have a free organum.
Over the 2 months spent in the Philippines I witnessed over 80 girls walk off of the street, and out of the sex trade to come into the care of WET. They have started their first days in High School, GED school, and Collage! they will become educated women and brake the cycle of poverty in their families and make the world a new place. It was an experience ill never forget! Now I’m in Thailand working with the same organization, going into the bars here in Chaing Mai. my efforts in writing to you is hope that you would choose to partner with me as a supporter of how God is using me in this season of my life.
As you also know I am in the final stages of my fundraising efforts here in Thailand. Only needing to raise 1,300 dollars to be fully funded.
