La Paz, Bolivia is stunning with it’s magestic mountains and charm. It’s very refreshing to be debriefing here with our entire squad (about 40 of us) as we are getting quality time with each other, time to spend with God processing the last month, and exploring this awesome city. The crisp temperature (sweater weather!) and “api” (a classic Bolivian drink that is like a thicker apple cider) makes for a very home-like, autumn-like atmosphere and it’s just perfect for right now! A break from the constant sweat and bugs in Haiti and a taste of home.

Haiti was an amazing first month and I am still processing a lot of what I experienced there, especially on our last day of ministry (it gave me a look into the spiritual realm and it was very far outside of my comfort zone, but very Jesus-filled and I’m thankful for it). I hope to spend this next month relishing and reflecting on Haiti and sharing about it once we get internet, likely at the end of October.

In just a few hours, our squad will hop on a bus to our Month 2 ministry with Campamento el Puente in Coricoco, Bolivia. As far as we know now, our ministry will be mostly grounds maintenance at the camp which will be very different from our ministry experience last month. It will be a great opportunity to see God in new ways even in the simplest acts of service and I’m excited for opportunities to get to engage with and serve the local people and those at the camp. Also, we will be living in our tents, boiling our own drinking water, taking bucket showers, and preparing food for our squad with 2 stovetops and no refrigeration- a true adventure! Please keep our squad in your prayers- that we would see God in His creation around is, in any and all of our ministry opportinities, and that our time living in true community with each other will be full of Jesus and growth and safety and adventure!

Just wanted to provide a quick update and say THANK YOU for the continued outpour of prayers, support, and love. Love doing this journey with you all. Also- I apologize for any and all spelling/grammar errors- it’s quite late and I’m on an iPhone (and without autocorrect :P).

Hugs for you,

Lisa
