Our young adults group at Mt. Paran has begun to have global dinners each month exposing injustices, praying for God’s movement, and learning how we can make a difference among the nations. Each month we have been looking at a different nation or people group. This month we were focusing on our own city, Atlanta. We partnered with Safehouse Outreach to do their “Unholy Land Tour” which is a city tour showing the areas of the city that need the Lord’s touch and that shows what the Lord is doing in the city.
As we were driving around the city, my heart was broken for my neighbors. We drove through areas of poverty, areas of extreme drug trafficking, areas of prevalent homelessness, areas of spiritual darkness. We discussed how and why people become trapped in these circumstances. I saw the darkness and the lack of purpose that fills so many lives. I saw the effects of sin on the lives of individuals and the fabric of our city. It broke my heart that so many were missing out on the abundant life that I have in Christ.
As we returned to Safehouse, we were spending some time in prayer and worship. I began to cry out to God, “Lord Jesus, come to this city!” I am sending you. “Come among Your hurting children” I am sending you. “Come among the lost, the searching” I am sending you.
The Lord has made Himself clear. He has appointed me to go into the city spreading His hope, His love, true life. Lord show me how to make a real difference in the city. Show me the way to walk in Your presence and spirit. Show me how to go in Your name, for Your glory.

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” ~Isaiah 6:8
