This is a poem I created that is compiled entirely from excerpts from my recent journal entries (thanks Bev for the idea from your small group’s scripture-based poems). It really captures what the Lord has begun to do in my heart and I believe He will continue until completion (see Phil. 1:6).

Lord You can see my heart: fearful, prone to wander, holding onto my role, asking for my “comforts”.

I expected You to continue Lord blocking that path,

All of the sudden… enough. You are a jealous God.

You look up at me madly, passionately in love. Your love penetrates.

“I will bring you into a new place, to swim in the deep, in the way everlasting.”

Courage. I don’t want to miss You. I am surrendering, letting go of other things, fear, tendencies, my background, as well as guilt. I want wholeness!

You reveal truth.

You teach me.

You change my heart.

I set myself aside.

I am one completely captured for You Lord.
