Kosovo is a land-locked Eastern European country. It is bordered by Albania to the west, Montenegro to the northwest, Macedonia to the south, and Serbia to the northeast.
Facts:
- The capital is Pristina
- The official language is Albanian
- The population is 2.1 million
- 95% of the population declare themselves as Muslim
History:
- Long-term sever ethnic tensions between Kosovo’s Albanian and Serbian population left Kosovo ethnically divided resulting in the Kosovo War from 1998-1999.
- After being controlled by Serbia since 1812’s Balkin War, Kosovo declared independence from Serbia in 2008, though Serbia does not recognize Kosovo as independent the UN does.
This month me and my team are praying for Kosovo in preparation for our journey there. If you would like to pray with us please check out my Praying for Kosovo blog.
