Tomorrow morning,
my team will be relocating from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, south to a remote village in the
Province of Kampot, namely “Kampot Village.”
There will
be no Internet, limited electricity
and cold-water showers…
We be
walking to the market for breakfast every morning will all other meals prepared
by a cook in the dormitories.
We will be
required to abide by the culture of Cambodia. For example, one conservative
norm expects that both guys and girls cover shoulders and knees. Oh and yes, it is blazing hot. But will embrace the heat and
amount of clothing required with joyful hearts and remember constantly how cold
it is in Alaska. (Hey, whatever spurs me on…)?
Ministry
will consist of evangelism, teaching English, fellowship, preaching/leading
worship on Sundays and more. As this is a new ministry site for University of
the Nations (a branch of YWAM), the church here is very minimal. Pray God will
use us to break down walls built from years and years of political unrest,
civil wars, and meaningless killings in this country. Cambodia is also hugely
influenced by Hindu and Buddhist background.
My team is
stoked for this new experience in the country land!! Please pray for “Citizens
of Hope” as we continue bringing Kingdom around the world. Also, if we aren’t able
to update blogs or answer e-mails, please believe that the hand of God is
guiding us everywhere we go.
God Bless!
