My Dinner Date with
Jesus
Jesus is a relationship.
Not a religion. So I thought… if he is a relationship, how come I expect him to
go 60, and me 40, or sometimes I may even expect Him to do all the work? A
relationship must be given attention. So my plan: I’m gonna start doing
something for Jesus. Maybe a little of the “Be still, and know,” spend time
with Him type scenario. And since training camp, I’ve been yearning for that
time, as it is now rare and far in between.
So, on Tuesday November
3rd, 2009 I cancelled all engagements (minus one little yet AMAZING
flag football game) for a dinner date with Jesus.
I searched
AllRecipes.com on my nifty iPhone for a recipe idea. Came across something
called Basil Chicken over Angel Hair.

I bought strange
ingredients like a garlic clove and extra virgin olive oil, and set to slave
over a hot stove for an hour or so. It was tough, but adventurous.
Oh. P.s. I don’t exactly cook a lot on
my own. For example, today, the 5th of November I attempted to heat
breadsticks in the oven but forgot about them… I instead produced 2 charcoal
nunchucks.
I also bought some wine,
lit a candle, and read a couple chapters from The Shack. How romantic…

dinner date with Jesus more often. We might have rekindled a spark. 😉
