I just wanted to update you all on my life since the race!
I just wrapped up my “first month home” and celebrated the holidays with the fam.
Some highlights:
- Purchasing my 2007 XTerra… remember my “New Years Resolutions 2010 blog?” dream come true.
- Being able to see my Dad’s family in Del-Rio,TX for Thanksgiving. We played lots of cards and I enjoyed catching up with them.
- Being able to see my great-grandmother in Austin,TX twice! Also was able to catch up with long lost extended family. Hope to see them more!!!
- After Christmas I was able to have a reunion of about 25 past and present lifeguard leads/supervisors from Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. What an awesome bunch of people. Those lifeguarding stories will Always peak my attention!
- I also had ample time to spend with my “nuclear” family and SO much time for Rest.
As you might already know I am NOW in Gainesville, GA working under Jimmy McCarty in the Recruiting Department at Adventures in Missions. I am excited about my future in Georgia and have already met so many amazing and beautiful people! In the recruiting dept we highly support interpersonal relations and will be providing outlets for mission minded individuals to sign up for trips and hear the stories.
With that said, I am in need of increased financial support. I must meet my goal of $3000 by Wednesday to receive my first “paycheck.”
So how does this work?
My apprenticeship is a fund-raised internship, 6 months for $10,000. A portion of this is given back to me every 2 weeks and covers my housing, food, gas, and bills. $1,000 goes towards AIM’s misc budget.
