Sunday was our last day of “work” at Musho. We wrapped up all of the church planting work in Tumpa on Saturday night. The culmination of a month of going door to door, having youth gatherings in the plaza, playing soccer, having set small group times to just explain the fundamentals of the Bible, was Tumpa’s first church service. Josue and Pedro secured a site near the town plaza to hold these meetings. And the room was packed. Many of the people at this first gathering were kids, but we’re told to have a child-like faith.
Sunday was full church activities… HOURS of church activities.
On Monday, we were off on another adventure. To lake Llanganuco. This area of lakes and mountains is situated in the Cordillera Blanca, in the shadow of both Huascarran and Alpamayo. The lakes have been formed from glacier water, causing the color to be the brightest shade of aqua I’ve ever seen.

From the waters’ edge, we drove to the other end and hiked into a beautiful valley of paper trees and fields of daisies (and cow patties). I felt as if I walked into a prehistoric time as I saw these low lying trees and rivers of crystal clear water. As if this area had been untouched, except by cows.

This was a perfect day for our team to come together, to learn more about eachother. For Scott, Steph, and Tana to be impulsive. As Steph has promised to do something impulsive monthly. This month’s impulse turned into a polar bear swim in Llanganuco.

And in the hour and a half car ride we learned bunch
s about Amanda’s life as a band wannabe, and service in the colorguard. So glad we had the chance to build up evidence of nerdiness :). I’m sure there will be more time to gather more on other team members this year.
