We’ve arrived safetly in South Africa (by way of London).
We flew from Buenos Aires to a layover at London-Heathrow… so we went sight-seeing for the day in London. Easily dropping $200 in one day for the two of us, we did a double-decker tour, and ate at a British pub. It was a great day with Jake and Lynette. I’d post some pictures, but the internet cafe here is $10 an hour. You’ll have to wait about a month for any more pics.
Apparently we’re better off leaving all of our electronics in South Africa (we’ll be returning here in about a month), as they’ll mostlikely get stolen if we bring them to Mozambique… this includes cameras. So if you want to see pictures of Mozambique, you’ll have to check the blogs of the media team.
Also, to all of you who like to comment on my email and not blogs (family!!), you’ll have to write to me and Scott on our blogs, since we’ll probably only be able to check our blog site for the next month.
We leave Pretoria, South Africa within the next couple of mornings, depending on the visa situation. We’ll be driving up to Dondo, dropping the A team off in Villancula (a tourist town). It’s about a 3 day drive, so I hear. We’ll be there for 3 weeks, then head to Swazi for debrief and more trianing with Seth, Gary, Tom, and Andrew. We’ll be there for another couple of weeks. Then, back to South Africa for a couple of days, and then to Botswana for another couple of weeks. Finally, we finish off July in South Africa.
We fly out of this continent on August 1st.
And as for the race… 2nd place. Scott and I didn’t get to participate in this one (a long story in itself), and our team has debriefed this one, as it seemed noone really had any fun. Better to come in third and have fun, right? Hopefully we’ll get to see South Africa on a slower pace when we get back.
Love you all… don’t forget, write on the blog!!!
