My name is
Linnea Molgard.  I’m 26 (almost 27) years old and born and raised in Massachusetts.  I got married on a mountain top (literally) a little over a year ago to Scott, who just happens to be travelling around the world with me.  We both come from Christian households (how blessed we are because of that!).  I have 1 sister and 2 brothers who are all older than me and all married, thus providing me with 3 nieces and 2 nephews all under 9 years old.  Scott and I also have a daughter… her name is Sequoia, and she’s our 1 year old English Mastiff puppy who weighs a little over 100 pounds now.  I know we’ll miss her dearly next year, but she’ll be in good hands at our pastor’s house.  We have a wonderfully supportive home church in Wilmington, MA.  Our church small group is our family, and our family is ever expanding (one couple has had a baby, and another one is expecting).  As for hobbies, Scott and I love hiking, biking, being outside in general.  I also love art (painting, drawing, ceramics) and playing sports, especially softball.  Currently, I’m playing softball for an all women’s summer league near my home.  Here in Massachusetts I am a certified athletic trainer and physical education aide  at an area vocational high school.  In the past I have worked at a Christian summer camp (counseling and teaching soccer and beach volleyball), in a physical therapy clinic, and coached softball at the collegiate level at my alma mater.
God has done some amazing things to get Scott and I to this trip.  He’s been preparing us through about 3-5 short term missions trips (whether with youth or other adults) to Guyana, upstate New York, and New Orleans.  Each time we’ve come home, we’ve know it’s not our last trip.  We view missions as an integral part of every Christian’s life, which is a tough thing to relay to northeastern American Christians.  Many American Christians are bent on having the American Dream, where success is measured by “things”/ comfort, but God wants us to use our resources (time, energy, money) to serve His purposes!  Scott and I are “able” to go live out the Great Comission, so that’s what we’ll do.  Have I wanted the American Dream?  Of course, what little girl in suburban America doesn’t think about the white picket fence?  But, I’d rather stake it all on following Jesus, if I’m going to live in the light of eternity!
