THE BASICS

Hi! My name is Lindy and I am 24 years old. I grew up Colorado and studied abroad in the Republic of Texas during college (all of you Texans out there will completely understand that joke).

After graduating from Texas Woman's University (Yes, it is mostly women that attend. No, it is not an all girls school. Yes, they still call it that, despite it being co-ed), the Lord blessed me with an amazing job at an advertising agency. Beyond that, he surrounded me with the most AMAZING co-workers a girl could ask for. Not only do this people love the Lord, but they have showered me with encouragement and support as I've begun to prepare for this exciting adventure called the World Race. Though I am really looking forward to seeing what God has in store for me, I will definitely miss seeing these people everyday.

I call this one "Portrait of a Young Professional"

MY FAMILY

The Lord has blessed me with an incredible family. My parents have been married for over 35 years and they still share an inspiring love for one another. They pray for my siblings and I each and everyday. And, though I may never know how greatly this has helped to shape and guide me, I do know that I am so grateful to have been raised by two people who love God and love me enough to bring my life and development before him in prayer.

My two sisters, Jessica and Hannah, are my best friends. My mom used to always tell us this would be the case, usually in the midst of us pulling one another's hair and shouting hurtful things. I remember thinking, "Mom is nuts. There is no way that this bossy individual will EVER be my best friend." Well, as is usually the case, I was wrong and Mom was 100% right. I am so grateful that God chose to place these incredible, beautiful, intelligent, God-fearing women in my life, not only as friends, but as family.

My brother, Zach, is a stud. Known as the "one line assassin," this man will have you rolling on the floor laughing. Beyond being the wittiest person I know, he is kind, smart, athletic and a true gentleman. To my future sister-in-law, whoever you may be, you are one lucky lady.

I may be biased, but I think this is one good lookin group!

MY MUTT

My dog Izzie is the last member of my family and I consider her my baby. Though she may look like a wild dingo of a dog, she is a sweet and loving companion that I will miss dearly while I'm gone. I'm not ashamed to admit that I plan on skyping her whenever I have the chance 🙂

Baby Izzie. I just love my dingo dog.

MY BEST FRIEND

Last, but not least, I will be leaving behind my amazing boyfriend, Sterling. An ncredible man who loves the Lord. He challenges me to pursue a deeper and more intimate relationship with Jesus and to love people who are lost and forgotten. I am so grateful that he is a part of my life. Though I will miss him dearly, I know that the Lord intends to use this time away to grow and strengthen both of us. I look forward to all he will teach us.

What a handsome guy!

I think that covers all of the basics (we can address my coffee and shopping addictions at a later time). I am so excited to be a part of The World Race! A crazy series of events have led up to this becoming a reality. More on that to come 🙂
