A quarantine blog- this has been a time of doubt, confusion, & plan changing. But I’m realizing that’s okay. Sometimes we just need a reminder to slow down. This pandemic was unexpected; it was so out of the blue. While I was sad & frustrated about missing out on things I’d been looking forward to, & watching the virus whisk away good things from my friends & start to crumble people’s lives, all I could do was just sit. Still. Silent. All of it is overwhelming.
I opened the window in my bedroom and let the light leak in. The birds chirped through the screen & for a second everything was okay. I read something that I wanted to share, something that changed my perspective a little.
“And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently. And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, heartless ways, the earth began to heal. And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed.” -Kitty O’Meara
So keep the windows open, let the light through, God’s got us.
Much love,
Linds
