Changes in Kingdom perspective are hard, especially when God wants to use something like fundraising to do it. I wish that it could happen another way, I really do. For me a shift in Kingdom perspective is vital. I need God to break my heart in a new way. I need him to awaken my life to the needs around the world. I need him to help me realize that he is mighty, powerful, and alive. That his love is powerful and real. But through fundraising, really God?

Fundraising for me means I have to push past my natural desires to sit back and allow life to happen and actively engage people in a dialogue about what God is doing in me and the world. I don’t like to feel like I am inconveniencing people, even if it’s for something really good and important. I don’t have a problem asking for people to support me, I have a problem asking people to take time out of their busy lives to sit down and talk with me. Crazy, I know. Especially since I love to sit down and talk with people. But God is changing my heart in all of this. For the first time I feel like I have a reason to stop people and tell them just how important it is that we share our mighty creator with the rest of the world. And yes, I know we need to start by sharing God in our own neighborhoods. In fact I have been hard at work doing that for the last year and a half as I work to connect my church with ways to impact our community for Christ. But my perspective on the world, and God, are changing.

If we are to truly live out the calling that we have received from Jesus, we have to share his love with the nations. What fundraising is teaching me in all of this is that I have an amazing opportunity to help people live out this calling. I have the ability to help people share the gospel with the nations. I get to form a team of people who get to walk with me through this journey. This team, that will pray for the people I am working with, support me financially, and will be my shoulder to lean on, are what I am so excited about during this time. My Kingdom perspective has changed because I have realized that God calls someone on a journey to the nations, but it is only through the body of Christ that they thrive.

I am not traveling on my own on the World Race. Every person who supports me and joins my team is traveling with me. They are just as much a reason that I go as the people I am going to serve.

Would you join my team? I love you enough to ask you join me in changing the world. Honestly, the biggest thing I need is your prayers. The money will come in, but I need a team of people who will stand before God on my behalf. If this sounds like something that interests you, would you comment below that you want to be on my team. And if God is calling you to give financially you can do that by clicking on the support me tab on the left side of the screen.
