Lindsey,
Soak in every moment of this journey. Days are coming a head that will be so good and some will be so hard. I know you think you have this all figured out, but you don’t. Be open to take risks and make a fool of yourself. Don’t take life too seriously.

Month 1

There will come times when the Race is no longer fun but necessary. There will be days when you come to the end of yourself. Embrace it. It’s exactly where God wants you to be. Most days will be more necessary than fun.

It’s necessary that you learn to live in community. It’s necessary that you figure out how to live out your faith among people. The Race stops being a fun adventure early on and eventually becomes the tool used to mold and shape you to look more like Christ. Don’t run away from difficulties. Don’t question if this is what you signed up for, it’s exactly what you signed up for.

As you step out into the unknown before you don’t try to make sense of all of it in your head. The more your try to figure it out for yourself and don’t let God reveal it to you, you miss out on just living in the moment he has for you. About God, trust him. Trust that he is worth getting to know even better then you think you know him now. You haven’t even scratched the surface of who God is.

There is so much that you don’t know about yourself, God and the world around you. Humble yourself and go on this year-long adventure of discovering all that you can. I know you think you know yourself, but shocker, you don’t. You have so much to learn about who God is and in turn that will lead you to learn more about yourself. Trust me, you will be shocked at how much you don’t know yourself as you set foot on this Race.

Month 8

As I said earlier, this journey is not always fun. Months will sneak up on you that you have grand plans for but will not put any of them into action. Days will happen where all you want to do is scream because you haven’t slept by yourself in over 100 days. The World Race was never meant to be a year-long adventure of fun and happiness, it is a journey of necessity. You have to go through all of the moments a head to come out of this the woman that God wants you to be. Trust me, you will be happier on the other side.

Love,
A much happier you
