I am so excited to announce training camp is 20 days away! This is where I will get the opportunity to meet my squad that I will be spending the next 11 months with. It has been such a blessing to get to know them over group chat but I know it will be even better in person.I am the most excited about growing the relationships that have already been forming over the last few months.
I have been reading lots of blogs trying to figure out what I will be doing at training camp. I am the kind of person that likes to know details first. So it’s kind of hard for me to go into this not knowing anything really. It’s exciting at the same time. I like the idea of not knowing that way I have no expectations or standards. I can move over and let God do what he is going to do. Let God be in control.
Training camp is 10 days of preparation for the mission trip. I will get the opportunity to experience some of the things I will be doing on the race. I will be taking bucket showers at camp to see what it’s like. We will be sleeping in our tents the entire time of camp. For those of you that know me are probably laughing because I have only been camping once in my life lol. Oh also everything I own for 11 months will be in a pack on my back. I will post a picture below! Thank goodness my pack is comfy!
I have had lots of questions about the mission trip I will be going on so I figured I would answer those for you here! The main question has been will I be sleeping in nice resorts when I am gone? The answer to that is no! I will be sleeping in my tent, hostel, or somewhere provided for us. We will be living just like the locals. The other question has been what are we going to be doing while gone. We will be doing whatever the needs are. That might include teaching English, building homes, teaching the kids about God, Praying for strangers, going into bars and talking to the locals about God, and preaching in the churches. Everyday will look different but the main thing we are going to do is love these people like Jesus and give them hope.
Please pray for me over these next few weeks leading up to launch.
