Hey everyone!
I am trying to get in the habit of blogging a few times a month to get prepared for when I am on the race since that will be the main point of communication. I wanted to share with you guys what last weekend looked like for me.
Lately I’ve been praying for God to use me in ways to prepare me for my upcoming mission trip. Well, I was a speaker for a young women’s weekend retreat last weekend. When I was asked to speak it blew my mind that God was asking me to stand in front of these strangers and be completely vulnerable. To share things that most people don’t know about me.That was totally out of my comfort zone. I am comfortable talking one on one or to a small group. But when it comes to standing in front of a larger crowd I freeze.
God stretched my faith that weekend. I had to rely on his strength to get me through this. While I was preparing for my talk I kept hearing God say “ Breathe, I will be standing there next to you the entire time” I can honestly say I felt his presence the entire time. I felt an overwhelming amount of peace and joy. I am SO glad I didn’t listen to the enemy. The enemy kept telling me I wouldn’t reach anyone, my story doesn’t matter to anyone, I should just quit now. Boy was he wrong! The devil is a LIAR!
The weekend was filled with worship, prayer, food, and loving on these precious girls God brought to the weekend retreat! These girls were such a joy to be around. They truly were a gift from God. They loved so well. They loved so selflessly. I watched chains fall off of these girls. There was FREEDOM.
Here are some things that stood out to me last weekend:
– No matter how far you have wondered, God still welcomes you back with open arms.
– God’s love for us is Reckless.
-Once your sin is exposed in light, It can NOT manifest in darkness.
– Community is important to have, Your not supposed to do life alone.
-God will show up and meet you when you least expect it.
– When you cry out to God he will meet you where your at.
-To forgive does NOT mean that you condone wrongdoing.
-Reaching a place of true forgiveness is NOT about you deciding that what someone did is okay if it was not.
-Forgiving does NOT mean you have to forget (is that even possible?).
-What forgiveness IS: eliminating the negativity that results from hurt by letting go of emotional baggage.
-Psalm 46:5 “God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.
-When you hit rock bottom, You fall into God because He is our rock.
-Happiness is temporary.
Thank you to everyone that read my blog. Also thank you to everyone who has donated financially and thank you to everyone that has been praying for me. God is doing a lot in my life and is helping me grow spiritually more than ever. The one thing I need from you guys is prayer. The next few months are going to be crazy and stressful. My first deadline is coming up soon! Please pray and ask God if he is leading you to donate to my trip. Even if it’s just a dollar it will help me reach my goals of going on this mission trip to spread God’s love. To donate go to my blog home page and hit the orange donate button. I love you all!
